Ever wondered why aesthetic business’s call Botox treatments either anti-wrinkle or anti-aging injections?
Here are a few reasons for why this is.
The first reason is because Botox was the first brand of toxin that was mass produced in the 1990s to treat fine lines and wrinkles. The toxin (Clostridium botulinum) in Botox, would block the signals from the nerves to the muscles to stop them contracting and therefore relaxing those muscles that would cause wrinkles and lines on contraction. By relaxing these muscles over time, the static superficial wrinkles and lines would also soften.
Overtime more products using the same toxin would be produced and that is where the other brands of neuromodulators would come in, such as Azzalure and Bocouture. At Enhance beauty Essex we use Azzalure due to positive experiences working with the product and its outcomes it produces.
So maybe now you’re wondering why we don’t just call it Azzalure injections?
Those products that contain such toxin such as Azzalure or Botox etc. are Prescription-only medicines (POM). Under UK law, it is not permitted to advertise prescription-only medicines to the general public, as it could encourage people to self-diagnose and self-medicate without seeking appropriate medical advice. This could potentially put people's health at risk. Toxins such as azzalure can be used to treat medical conditions such as migraines, teeth clenching, sweating ect.
Because such toxins are injected into the muscles, causing an anti-aging or anti-wrinkle effect, practitioners have had no choice but to put two and two together and come up with the names anti-aging injections or anti-wrinkle injections when advertising such treatments.
